Arturo Donate

I am a PhD student in computer science at Florida State University working under the supervision of Dr. Xiuwen Liu. I received my Masters of Science Degree in 2006 from the Florida Institute of Technology, where I worked under Dr. Eraldo Ribeiro as a member of the computer vision group from 2004 to 2006. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in computer science from the University of Miami in 2004. My CV is available here. Research

My main research interests are in computer vision, image processing, pattern recognition, and computational geometry. In the past I have done research in areas related to dynamic scene analysis, texture segmentation and classification, and object detection (see my CV for more details). I have also worked on several projects related to object detection from satellite imagery, human detection for robot motion planning, fast stereo corresponcence, and algorithms for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). I am currently working on the problem of extracting 3D features from videos.
